About Me
Like many other coaches before me, I was inspired by a group of amazing coaches and the impact they had on me, not only as an athlete, but as a man. This same coaching staff truly opened my eyes to the importance of strength and conditioning in athletics. During my days at Arroyo Grande High School, I gained a strong understanding and appreciation for how our strength and conditioning program developed us physically, mentally, and mitigated injuries. I was an undersized athlete and my dreams of becoming a professional athlete were quickly dwindling. I knew that I wanted to stay involved in athletics as long as I could. Naturally, coaching was the next best thing. As I transitioned to college football at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon my scope continued to grow as I interned in the private sector and received a top notch Exercise Science degree under the tutelage of some brilliant professors. I knew I was on the right path.
As long as I can remember, I’ve loved the outdoors, being active, and more so being competitively active. Along with this, my earliest memories of being scolded or parented were about issues on how to treat the people around you. “Treat others as you would want to be treated,” seemed to be my parents catch phrase. My parents raised a driven but selfless individual. I’ve taken these qualities into the profession that I believed I could have the most impact in, coaching. I coach because I love sports. I love how shared adversity within training or competition creates lifelong bonds. I love how sports has a way of bringing everyone together towards a common goal, no matter what you look like or what your ideals outside of sports are. I love the idea that sports are the purest form of mental and physical growth. A quote from Eric Kapitulik, Founder and CEO of, “The Program,” has always resonated with me. “The best way to become mentally tougher, is to become physically tougher.” I coach because it is fun and exciting, but more importantly, I coach to develop my athletes as contributing members of society, just as I was forged by my parents and coaches. Thank you very much. Stay positive and spread love!
